Playoffs for the U-11s will be on June 8/9. Half of the games will be played at home and half off-island.

It is possible that the U-11s will have more kids register than is logistically feasible. Should that occur there will be tryouts for the travel squad in late January. Those kids not making the travel team will instead be placed into a robust instructional House League Program. If your child is placed in the House League, parents will have the option of: (1) Receiving a $150 refund or (2) Opting to withdraw from the program and receive a full refund.

Registration will OPEN on November 15th and CLOSE on January 15th.

There is a Mandatory Orientation on February 13th @ 6:00 PM for all participants (kids) and their parent(s)/ guardian(s) that will be held at the Nantucket New School. At that time we will provide all the important information about the youth lacrosse program generally and then break into gender/ age groups so that you can meet your coaches and go over specific team information.

PLAYING TIME POLICY: It is the policy of NYL that each player shall have approximately an equal amount of playing time over the course of the season- all other things being equal.

So in what circumstances are unequal playing time ok? (1) In a particular game penalties, man up/ down situations may result in unequal playing time (2) during the last few minutes of a close game a coach may play certain players more than others in order to give the team the best chance of winning (3) a coach may use playing time as a motivational or disciplinary tool for violations of team rules, missing practices or games and repeated failure to follow directions or for a lack of "hustle' during a practice or game. (4) NEW- Missing practices or games to play another spring sport WILL RESULT IN THE LOSS OF PLAYING TIME IN SUBSEQUENT GAME(S)- this is only fair to those players that commit to attending all practices/ games and make lacrosse their primary sport. Missing a practice or a game due to sickness or an injury will not fall under this new guideline. If and when this occurs the coach should explain how he/ she failed to meet the coach's expectations and the impact that this will have on playing time.

Required Equipment: Lacrosse stick, goggles/ eye protection (eyewear must conform to ASTM standard F3077)
